Alternative medicines embrace a wide variety of approaches to health, healing, and wellness. These approaches include diet and nutrition, acupuncture, hypnosis, expressive/creative arts therapies, mindfulness, mind-body-spirit practices, and more. CELA’s Alternative & Holistic Healthcare Certificate provides a foundation in alternative medical and holistic approaches in healthcare that can be incorporated into clinical, educational, and consulting professional practice.

Students design their capstone project as a culmination of their learning and focus on an area of alternative and holistic healthcare that is of special interest to them. Many students submit a paper while others have submitted projects in video and audio formats. Mod 7, Capstone Project, provides full details and instructions for the capstone project.
This is an online program and all modules are online. Each module has several lessons and each lesson is designed to take 1 week to complete. Students work at their own pace to complete the work of the program. The Alternative & Holistic Healthcare Certificate Program is typically completed in approximately 6-8 months. Students have access to course materials for 12 months and can take up to 12 months to complete the program.
CELA does not accept transfer credit for the Alternative & Holistic Healthcare Certificate Program. All courses must be completed through CELA.
