As you may or may not be aware, Canvas/Instructure recently experienced a massive cybersecurity breach with their Free for Teachers (FFT) program. All CELA courses were offered through Canvas FFT. CELA programs and all associated curriculum, student submissions, and materials for all classes were caught up in the system-wide Canvas FFT emergency lock-down and are currently inaccessible. Although we have reached out to Canvas/Instructure requesting all the course information be sent to CELA, it will probably take some time. Instructure has permanently discontinued the Canvas Free for Teachers program.
Instructure has announced they are developing a new, more secure “enhanced Canvas product” specifically for individual educators. This replacement service is expected to launch in the fall of 2026.
We are busy behind the scenes rebuilding our curriculum in order for students to continue with their program. During this transition period, registration portals and active student course links are paused.We appreciate your patience and we look forward to creating with you again soon!
